Not the Sol Tower I Remember

It is becoming clear to me that I need to find a new place I can call Sol's Tower because this tower can no longer fill that role. Being back is nice and all, but it's dull and boring now. And now I'm play babysitter? WTF?! I can't stay here, people impose too much on me while I'm here.

And you know what my problem is? I have too big a heart for this fucked up world. I care too much and get disillusioned too often. I'm cynical now because of lies spewing from institutions I used to revere. I have trust issues because it is more likely I will be lied to by someone greedy enough, by the very few desiring to keep control over everyone else. I don't know what my place is in this universe, and I don't know if such a place even exists.

A potent spell expired

In a few hours the age restriction spell will be completely lifted. Someone has proposed going out as soon as the clock strikes midnight. Next week, the third Ultima cycle will end. I'm stretching the last cycle into two. It works out well: I won't go insane from academy trial overload, and I can bide my time while the real realm economy remains in chaos. I've explored much of the Altered Realm. I've like it, there's always a sense of euphoria to be had. Trouble is I'm still as lazy as I was before the Altered Realm, except now I don't care as much. Next week I will return to Metropolis for a while. Then I return here to live in Ultima City and hopefully be interning at OnLive. Chances are looking good right now. So far I guess everything's ok, except I've kinda lost direction, on autopilot for now.

Wizard's Leaf Day

A shell spell was cast over the forest yesterday obviously because of the annually celebrated Wizard's Leaf Day. Transports were rerouted away from the Luna Tower area to deter non wizards from storming the Luna Meadow. I actually went the opposite way to a Wizard friend's house for a more close knit celebration. I had a fantastic time. It was probably the most relaxed I've felt to date. If my tolerance were lower I might have started seeing things. Much as I wanted to go to the Luna Meadow and mingle there, Mars was unbearable in the weather department. Aside from that nothing new other than the fact I'm running low on Wizard Leaf. I surprised myself that I would be out already but I suppose it's because I recently upgraded to a bigger Portal Generator and a bigger Wizard Leaf grinder. That's ok though, just small stuff.

Oh, and for the record, Sunday's Family Guy was legit. Laughed my ass off.

A Great Ending To This Trial Cycle

Before I start, I went to the Equipment Shop I mentioned last post and it was small and didn't really have compelling equipment of the kind I've seen in the other three shops I've been in. Nice try but it won't get the Ultima Seal of Approval. Another aside, World of Goo gets the Ultima Honorable Mention for being a perfectly crafted game. Now, this trial cycle ended on good terms, A- in CS and Technology Seminar, B in Interactive Storytelling, and B- in Advanced Programming. It could be the fact that it was a lighter load but one thing is true, Wizard Leaf hasn't caused me to fail my classes. Take that establishment.

New Equipment Shop

I'm back in Ultima Metropolis after a tiring Judgment Week. One trial result was certified and I'm pleased with the result. I await the other two. On the way back, as I was passing through Ultima Dragonport I was nearly busted by the Dragonport Guards. I won the extra screening lottery while I had an Altered Realm Portal Generator (which BTW was christened as Mr. Peanut because it looks remarkably like a big peanut) in one pocket and Wizard's Leaf in the other. A quick pat down forced me to expose the Generator (luckily not the Wizard's Leaf, must have been mistaken for a large pen). The guard took a look at it and promptly gave it back and I was cleared (well after my bag was investigated because the scanners couldn't make out my notebook fan). Now I'm here after that close call. I went to the Carson Merchant's Tower, Southbay Pavillion, with the High Council and stumbled across another Altered Realm Equipments Shop called Le Cigar. I might browse around there tomorrow. I desperately need a hair cut, it's become unruly as of late. I have little Wizard's Leaf left so I might have to call in a couple of people to see if I can find an Altered Realm Merchant in the area.
